WOMEN’S INSTITUTE: Members enjoyed a wonderfully enlightening talk by Priscilla Oates on Thursday evening. She spoke of two of her favourite hobbies, hill walking and photography. She brought along items she used, a map case with note-book and compass and explained about the necessary clothing needed. She also produced amazing pictures of churches dedicated to St Michael. He is the patron Saint of high places. She singled out one in Particular St Michael's Church on the top of Brent Tor on Dartmoor. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed it. She was thanked by Jeanette Dodd.

Brenda Lawrence along with Sybil Benny attended the Spring Countdown for Cornwall afternoon giving us all a factual and amusing account of their visit. Jenny Smith, president, talked about future fund-raising ideas. Orders for spring bulbs was mentioned as well as a possible President's Picnic planned for later in the year. Members had an amazing display of our flower of the month: 1, Jenny Smith; 2, Sue Garner. The completion poem: 1, Marian Jennings; 2, Jenny Smith; 3, Francis Johns. After a lovely supper the social half hour was quite hilarious with everyone's artistic skills left wanting in paper charades.

If anyone would care to join us we meet on the first Thursday of the month at 7.15pm in Cury Village Hall.
