Although it was a very warm afternoon the June meeting was fairly well attended. A warm WI welcome was extended to a member from Welwyn (Hertfordshire) WI who was holidaying in the village.

After the business was concluded the July meeting was discussed. This will be in the form of a garden party, and will be held in the garden of Val Stephens home on July 11 – weather permitting of course and if wet in the WI hall.

The speaker this month was Jane Mills, who gave a cookery demonstration “Easy Summer Eats”. Jane showed us how to make mouth watering sweets, using summer fruits, some dips, and tasty savoury pasta and bites. The reciepies looked and tasted delicious. You could certainly ‘wow’ your family and friends with them, but the best part was they looked very impressive, but took very little time to prepare!

The competition ‘A favourite summer receipe was won by Katherine. Flower of the month: 1, Val; 2, Elizabeth; 3, Kath.
