I can't believe it comes around so quickly, yes it's the first Thursday in the month - Cury WI meeting. Another beautiful, warm Cornish evening welcomed us all.

After the usual preliminaries were dispensed with, other items past and future came up on the agenda. The bowling day organised by Helston Bowling Club was a tremendous success with some members keen to join. The Wadebridge day trip list is up and running with places being quickly filled and the Barn Dance on September 20 has been arranged with tickets adults £7 and children £3 on sale now, which are going quite quickly! Our competition entry for The Helston Fatstock Show on The First World War was discussed with ideas coming in fast and furious. We can't wait to get started.

No guest speaker this evening, instead one of our members, who is brilliant at crafts, showed us all how to make Christmas baubles. Early, you might think, but not for us forward looking ladies, it's never too early. Thanks M we had a great time and look forward to placing our personal baubles on the tree.

As usual the mouth watering display of healthy(?) cakes was dished up. These are times when I love the WI. So much for our waistlines ladies! No game tonight either with lots to discuss on the arrival of the WI Baton on February 19. The evening ended with us feeling that we had not only added to our figures but put the world to rights, roll on the next one.

New friends are here to be made so come and join us at Cury Hall.

Next month Lorraine and Sue are going to show us how to cover boxes which should be great fun.
