ST CORENTYN'S HOLLY FAIR: Over £600 was raised at the Holly Fair held in Cury Village Hall on Saturday for the St Corentyn's Bell/Tower Fund when stall holders were kept busy with buyers throughout the afternoon.

Priscilla Oates, captain of the tower thanked everyone for coming, the stall holders and the staff in the kitchen. Priscilla explained that the re-pointing of the tower and the bell structures were now all finished and passed, but we now need a new door for the tower.

On Sunday the church will be holding their service for Remembrance Day. Please be at church by 9.10am.

METHODIST CHURCH: The all age worship service on Sunday was led by Julie Swann, taking salt and light as her theme. A short puppet show kept the younger members enthralled. The offering was collected by Lacey and Harriet; accompanist was Hester Bosustow and the flowers given by Jenny Boaden.

On Sunday we are joining with the church for their Remembrance Service at 9.10am, therefore there will be no service at the chapel. Our next service will be on Sunday November 16 and will be a local arrangement.

The next family service will be on December 7 with the Rev Steve Swann.

Our next coffee morning on November 20 will have a Christmas theme, so please come and join us.

WOMEN'S INSTITUTE: On Thursday we are having an open evening at 7.15pmin the village hall with Sarah Chapman, our speaker, talking about tales of an obsessive knitter. Men folk are welcome to attend, but if they don't want to come to hear about knitting they are invited to come about 8.15pm for a very entertaining social half-hour in which some of them participated a few years ago and see themselves on screen with some very important well known stars!

There will be a delicious supper and raffle, we look forward to welcoming you all.
