The January meeting was well attended, and members were welcomed by the president. Apologises were read, and birthday cards for January were distributed.

The baton celebrations due to be held at the Guildhall, Helston on February 19 were discussed, and three members each agreed to make a cake for refreshments on the day.

We have been invited by Helston WI to join them at Epworth Hall on June 4 to watch a transmission of the arrival of the baton at the Centenary Annual Meeting - which is being held at The Albert Hall.

Next monthly meeting (February 13) will be the annual meeting. A board was passed round for volunteers for 2015 Committee. Avril Woolcock WI advisor will be present.

Catherine has four members to help with The Allsop cup, but more would be welcome. The competition is a study for one year in the life of Cornish hedges, in conjunction with Cornwall Wildlife Trust.

Ann Symons asked for helpers for the Tiny Souls project (Cornish charity) to knit for ages up to seven years.

There will be a bi-monthly Newsletter.

The speaker was Katrina McCarron and the subject was 'The Secret Language of Clothes'. Members were shown with the aid of a colour wheel, how some people are better suited to warm colours, and others to cold colours. This was demonstrated on one member with different coloured scarves.

Everyone enjoyed the afternoon, and a vote of thanks was given by Ann. Flower of the month was won by Joyce.

The monthly competition - an interesting piece of fabric - was won by Catherine, second Beryl and third Joy.
