President for the day on Sunday was Brian Jones and he welcomed the speaker, Steve Bilton and his family from Exeter.

In the afternoon Steve looked at the lessons for us as we begin the daily bible readings for the year. It shows how God chose individuals who faced the same problems as we do yet were held up as examples of faith in Hebrews 11.

They were not perfect but they tried and were all part of Gods plan as we can be as we strive to follow Jesus and remember him in the communion service.

It teaches us the need to help each other and is about faith and righteousness as we put our hope in the Lord and look for his return.

After sharing tea Steve gave a presentation asking who wanted immortality and pointed out the troubles and cares of the world. Jesus told us not to worry but find peace and a focus in life as we can lay our fears and problems before God.

Research has shown that those who have a Christian belief lead calmer and longer lives with less depression and fatigue looking to God's promises for the future. We need to strive to develop the attributes in Galatians 5 v 19 of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control as we look forward to life in His kingdom.
