BALWEST METHODIST CHURCH: The congregation on Sunday were pleased to welcome the Rev Beverley Turner on her first visit as their new minister. The accompanist was Christine Cumber and flowers were given and arranged by Olga Varker.
On Sunday the Harvest Thanksgiving service will be held when the preacher will be Deacon Geoff Tamblin. On Monday at 7pm there will be a mini quiz for teams of four. This will be followed by the auction of produce.
ASHTON CHURCH: To celebrate the Feast of St Michael on Saturday, the service of holy communion was presided over by Canon Michael Porteus. On Friday there will be a service of holy communion at 9.30am.
LION & LAMB: On Friday as part of the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning in aid of MacMillan Cancer Research, coffee was served. Elaine and Graham would like to thank everyone who helped and all who supported the event, £530 was raised.
