CHAPEL: Christine Bridgewater led the morning service on Sunday. The offering was collected by Christopher Trounson and flowers provided by Fran Bettle.

Sunday is a fellowship service after which we will be packing shoe boxes for Romania - if you have any small gifts for these please bring them along or leave at Brenda’s.

VILLAGE HALL: The sound of thundering hooves and shouts of excitement emanated from the village hall on Friday evening when the Annual Race Night took place.

Lucky owners John and Yolande Drayson had a very successful evening when several of their horses and jockeys were first past the winning post.

The evening organised by Phil Greet and the committee is one of the big events we hold each year to raise funds towards the children’s Christmas party, which this year takes place on Sunday, December 2 at 3.30pm followed by the Christmas lights switch-on with the Rev Steve Swann followed by the Grand Christmas Draw with a first prize of £100. Squares for this are on sale now at any of our forthcoming events.

On Thursday is our Monthly Whist Drive at 7.30pm - entry £1 with raffle and refreshments.

October events: Eyes down at 7.30pm on the 25 for Cash Prize Bingo; 30, Halloween Disco at 7pm - classes for fancy dress under 6, 7–11, 12–16 and adults. Also a pumpkin lantern competition for over 9 and under 16.

BELL PROJECT: On October 26 at the village hall the Bells Project Team have a Cornish evening at 7.30pm with War-an-Dour, a singing group. Also a Droll Teller and pasty supper. If you wish to book a pasty please ring Brenda as soon as possible on 01326240889 - £2 each.

ANNUAL HOLLY FAIR: The fair will be held on November 3, stalls £5 each. To book please ring Priscilla 240887.
