President for the day was Bob Muxlow and visitors were welcomed from Rowley, Ammanford, Camborne, Wigan and Halesowen.

The speaker was John Saxton-Ward and in the afternoon he focussed on two simple thoughts from the daily readings: When Jesus said; “I am” and “abide in me”. Abide can mean enduring which is what the love of God is for us, but also lifelong which should be the commitment believers make to Jesus. John reminded his listeners of the love Jesus had for his followers and told them that they should show love for one another and those around them in their lives.

After sharing tea John looked at the Lord’s Prayer and the pattern and standard that Jesus set for his disciples then and now. The prayer covers everything that we should pray for and shows that God is the provider of all our needs. It also prays for the kingdom which will bring about change on the earth and will stand for ever.
