President for the day was Dieter Friedrich and visitors were welcomed from Torquay, Cambridge and Reading.

The speaker on Sunday was Dennis Southall from Torquay and in the afternoon he used the story of Daniel to show that he was not prepared to compromise his faith in God just to placate his opponents. Dennis pointed out the other examples in the Bible when adversaries were likened to lions and reminded us that although we are not called on to face such persecution and fear the communion service was a reminder of the perfect life Jesus led and the sacrifice he made to offer salvation to all. All that is needed is a trust and faith in God.

After sharing tea Dennis used the parable of the trees in Judges chapter 9 and looked at the symbolic references to trees throughout the Bible and how they were often used to demonstrate important lessons. Trees were used to show characteristics of people including the Lord Jesus who called himself the True Vine. Trees were used to show strength, fruitfulness and usefulness. Other trees were useless and Dennis suggested that we should decide which of those characteristics we could show in our service to God.

The baptism of Sandra Bradley will take place at 6pm on Saturday at the Christadelphian Hall, Church Row.
