President for the day on Sunday was Bob Muxlow and he welcomed the speaker, Matthew Brown and his family from Plymouth.

In the afternoon Matt looked at the daily reading from Matthew chapter 28 when the women discovered the empty tomb and the huge stone rolled away and were told that Jesus was risen. Matt suggested that the stone could represent the sin of the world which had been rolled away through the sacrifice and resurrection of Jesus. He concluded with Colossians chapter 3 with the list of sins to avoid and virtues to aspire to and to be united in the hope of salvation through Jesus.

After sharing tea Matthew gave a talk on how the Bible defines Christian marriage right from Genesis where two were joined by God for companionship and mutual support and needed to have God at the centre of the relationship. Jesus gave his opinion in Matthew chapter 19 on the ideal marriage. Matt went on to point out that the Bible says marriage is symbolic of Christ and the church and he quoted 1Corinthians chapter 13 to show the characteristics of love which should be cultivated in any relationship and we should be working towards a perfect relationship with Christ in the Kingdom.
