The preacher for morning worship was the Rev Philip Williams, who based his thoughts on the story of the healing of the blind man in John’s gospel. He drew a comparison between that man and the spiritual blindness of many people in today’s world.

Palfrey Turner led the ceremony of the Lenten Cross, and Peter Richmond was the organist.

The vestry service in the evening was led by the minister, the Rev Beverly Turner, and was also a service of holy communion. Paul Benney was the pianist.

This coming Saturday will be the occasion of the church’s annual Spring Fund Raising Festival in the public hall, commencing at 10am and continuing till 1pm.

Tea and coffee will be available: there will be the usual stalls, including cakes, craft work, jewellery and bric-a-brac. Everyone is invited to come along for a time of fellowship and friendship, and perhaps find something to buy as well.
