Sunday's service for the fifth Sunday of Lent, Passion Sunday, was taken by the Rev Peter Bradford. The first lesson and the Psalm were read by Phyllis Whiting and the second lesson by Maureen Williams. Andrew Woods was the organist.

This week's services will be on Wednesday at 6.30pm (Stations of the Cross), Thursday at 10am (holy eucharist with the Rev Len Jepp as celebrant) and Palm Sunday at 9.30am (blessing of Palms and solemn eucharist with the Rev Judy Harris as celebrant).

The Lent ecumenical group will meet in the Fore Street Methodist Chapel on Thursday at 2.30pm. Easter week services will be on Wednesday, April 16 at 6.30pm (Stations of the Cross), Good Friday (April 18) at 12 noon (Good Friday liturgy with the Rev James Vincent as celebrant) and Easter day (April 20) at 9.30am (solemn eucharist and blessing of Easter garden with the Rev Judy Harris as celebrant). Choir practice this week will be on Wednesday at 7.15pm.

Anyone wishing to order a lily to be incorporated in the Easter flower arrangements is asked to speak to Helen Smith.

Envelopes are still available for Lent savings which, this year, will go to the Farming Community Network.

The election of churchwardens and annual parochial church meeting will take place on Thursday, April 24 following the 10am eucharist.
