Sunday's service for the second Sunday of Easter (Low Sunday) was taken by the Rev Peter Bradford.

The first lesson, the Psalm and intercessions were read by Phyllis Whiting and the second lesson by Colin Wroe. Following the service, the outgoing churchwarden, Pete Head, was thanked for her seven years of service and presented with a card and potted plant arrangement. Esther Brown continues as churchwarden and treasurer.

As part of the Porthleven Food and Music Festival, St Bart's has hosted several very successful concerts this week. Hieronymus Quartet performed on Friday evening and The Culdroses Military Wives Choir on Saturday evening, both sponsored by the Trevor Osborne Charitable Trust, and there were performances by Theo, Georgia and Bryn, The Tides, Jade Hamzelou, Levow and Bys and the Piper Singers during the day on Saturday. It was lovely to hear the music and see the church so well used.

This week's services will be on Thursday, May 1 at 10am (holy eucharist with the Rev Peter Bradford as celebrant), and Sunday, May 4 at 9.30am (solemn eucharist with the Rev Dorothy Noakes as celebrant) and 6pm (evensong and sermon with the Rev Jane Bradbury as officiant). Choir practice will be on Wednesday at 7.15pm.
