The preacher for morning worship was Mr Chris Smith from Helston, who spoke about the importance of love.
David Philp was the organist. Evening service was led by the stewards, on the theme of Mission, and included readings from various authors and a sketch on the subject of “The Offering”. Taking part were Jeff Mount, Palfrey Turner, Dorothy Pountain and Elsie Balme.
Unable to play the organ on account of a broken bone in his foot, Paul Brown bravely led the singing from the piano, a gesture greatly appreciated by the congregation.
Visitors during the day included two from Singapore. It should be emphasised that visitors are always welcome at Porthleven Methodist Church, whether or not they are practising Methodists, and members of the local public can be assured of an equally warm welcome.
Events during the week are advertised on the Notice Board outside the chapel.
