On Friday members met at the home of Olive Polglase for the first of the summer fundraising events. Afternoon tea was served and homemade cakes sold, along with a raffle and bric-a-brac stall.
A good time was had by all. Many thanks to Olive for her hospitality, and to all committee and general members who attended and supported this event - £140.30 was raised for club funds.
The next event will be a cake stall on the Harbour Head (Costcutters if wet) on the morning of Friday, August 1 from 9.30am onwards. Donations of cakes will be much appreciated. A variety of cakes, large and small, will be available for purchase and everyone is encouraged to come and support us.
The first meeting of the 2014/2015 session will be on Friday, October 3 at 7.30pm, in the Methodist Church, Fore Street, Porthleven. This will be a social evening with the Celtic Chords – a Ladies Barber Shop Choir – to entertain us. There will be a light supper provided. Everyone is welcome to all events.
