On Saturday the church held a very successful family fun day on the Harbour Head.

The preacher on Sunday morning was Gina Varker, one of the Circuit Readers, who presented a service prepared by the Rev Danny Reed, on the subject of the proper approach to prayer.

Evening worship was led by the Minister, the Rev Beverly Turner, and was a very moving commemoration of the outbreak of World War One. Some of the most famous war poems were read, along with excerpts from the memoirs of various people who took part in the conflict. The service included holy communion.

The Word War One exhibition at the chapel has been running since Monday morning and will close on Wednesday evening. Next week there will be a new exhibition, entitled “Porthleven’s got talent” showcasing the work of various artists, craftsmen etc. from around the village. All are welcome.
