President for the day on Sunday was Geoff Harry who welcomed the many visitors from Birmingham, Reading, Mumbles, Isle of Wight, Wythall, Redditch, Sutton Coldfield, Newport and Kenilworth.

On Sunday afternoon the speaker was Brian Jones and he based his whole exhortation on the word Influence; a word which influences every part of our life. Brian looked at Peter to see what influenced him.

Peter’s speech in Acts chapter 2 had massive influence on his listeners and thousands were converted. Brian suggested that the function of prayer was not to influence God but for God to influence us and change the one who prays. God seeks to influence us through Jesus and even though we may come with doubts and dark thoughts our sins are forgiven as we remember Him in the communion service.

After sharing tea Dieter Friedrich gave an inspiring presentation on A time for Peace. There have been constants conflicts over the past 100 years, but God is the author of peace and the Bible promises pictures of peace that will exist on earth when Jesus returns. Dieter referred to the many times peace is talked about in the Bible and we can all find peace with God through Jesus if we put into practice the things that are right, which is the sure promise of God.
