Porthleven Christadelphian Church

President for the day on Sunday was Bob Muxlow. The speaker, Jeremy Brown, was welcomed along with visitors from Dudley, Coventry, Ashby and Exeter. The recent coffee morning for Air Ambulance raised over £200 and everyone was thanked for their contribution.
In the afternoon Jeremy took his theme from Matthew 16 concerning Peter’s confession of faith. Although Peter also tried to dissuade his Lord from his mission, Jesus cared for him so much, although he knew Peter would deny him soon. Peter learned from his experiences as we should today and care for each other as Peter did. Peter also learned that before glory comes sacrifice and everyone can read about it for themselves in his letters. Jesus called Peter a hewn rock and Jeremy reminded us that we are all living rocks. But only God is the rock on which the church is built.
After sharing tea Dieter Friedrich gave a fascinating presentation in the evening on Technology and the Bible. Dieter reminded his listeners that technology has made great advances through the ages. The greed of mankind has caused a loss of humility causing us to blank out the creativity of God. Dieter suggested that we need to place our trust in the Creator and not the created.
