Children’s Hospice South West’s Moonlight Memory Walk is taking place this Saturday night – September 21. With nearly 400 ladies signed up Falmouth will be turning into a sea of purple T-shirts and fancy dress as they make their way through the seaside town.

Preparations are in full flow for the event and CHSW are sending a heartfelt thank you to every lady who has registered to take part and to all of the volunteers who will be giving their time to help make the event a success.

Sarah Stott, Events Fundraiser for CHSW said: “We would like to thank everyone who has signed up to take part in this year’s Falmouth Moonlight Memory Walk and the hard work they have put into their fundraising already. This event is raising money that is going straight to the care of the families that use our hospices so every donation is truly appreciated. We really look forward to seeing you all on the night and hope you enjoy this special event”.

If you are taking part in the walk, the CHSW team will be ready to welcome you for registration l between 8pm and 9.30pm on The Moor, when you will be given your special 5th anniversary Moonlight Memory Walk t-shirt. At 9.45pm there will be the Memory Ceremony and then a warm up, with walkers setting off for the five mile circular walk at 10pm.

If you have not already registered but still want to take part, you can enter online at www.chsw.org.uk until midnight on Thursday 19th. No registrations can be taken on the night.

With the help of ladies in Falmouth, across Cornwall and further afield the event has raised a phenomenal £180,000 since it first came to the town in 2009. Celebrating its fifth anniversary of being held in Falmouth this year, CHSW are hoping for a record amount of donations.

Little Harbour, CHSW’s hospice in St Austell has been open for almost 2 years and is already supporting over 70 families with life-limited children as well as supporting some bereaved families.
