It is just two months to go two this year’s sponsored Moonlight Memory Walk in Falmouth on Saturday 18th September and if you’ve already signed up you’re probably now thinking about obtaining sponsorship.

Last year Moonlight Memory Walkers raised over £60,000 for the Precious Lives Appeal and this year we hope to raise an equally staggering amount to help build a children’s hospice in Cornwall. There is no minimum sponsorship for taking part in the Moonlight Memory Walk, we just ask that you raise as much as you can! Here’s a few tips to help you on your way:  Start now! The earlier you start handing your sponsor from around the more money you are likely to raise.

 Take your sponsor form everywhere and don’t be afraid to tell anyone and everyone what you’re doing!

 Set up an online fundraising page on the CHSW website or through justgiving.com  Promote your fundraising through your company newsletter, company intranet or parish magazine, send e-mails to all your contacts, and post it on Facebook or Twitter.

 Sponsor yourself by collecting all your pennies or two pound coins!

To give your fundraising an extra boost why not hold a fundraising event? Emma Lloyd, Children’s Hospice South West Head of Fundraising for the Precious Lives Appeal says: “Holding a fundraising event is a great way to raise more, particularly if you have exhausted all potential sponsors. Why not download our handy A to Z of fundraising on our website and get cracking? From auctions to boot sales, yacht races to zany parties there are loads of ideas to get you started!

“It all adds up and each penny will help us get one step closer to achieving the dream of our new children’s hospice, Little Harbour.

“Ladies, if you haven’t signed up to take part in this year’s Moonlight Memory Walk yet, don’t forget the deadline for registration is Wednesday 8th September.”

The Moonlight Memory Walk is a five mile ladies only sponsored walk around Falmouth on Saturday 18th September, taking in the sites of the town and celebrating precious memories with every step. All money raised will go towards the Precious Lives Appeal and there is an extra incentive for raising lots of money, as the lady who raises the most in sponsorship will win a year’s free haircuts at Rococo in Truro!
