Over six hundred women are expected to hit Falmouth town centre on Saturday 18th September as Children’s Hospice South West’s Moonlight Memory Walk returns for 2010.

They are taking part in the event to celebrate precious memories with every step, raise vital funds for the Precious Lives Appeal, and enjoy a great night out!

The girl’s night out with a difference will see the ladies taking part in an uplifting candle lit ceremony before completing a five mile sponsored walk taking in the town centre and the sea front.

Emma Lloyd, Children’s Hospice South West Head of Fundraising (West), says: “What a sight it will be to see more than six hundred candle bags all aglow and hundreds of ladies walking together for a common cause.

“If you’re taking part in this year’s event don’t forget to bring your walker number, pledge card, decorated candle bag, and a torch. Warm wishes to all our Moonlight Memory Walkers, we hope you are looking forward to the evening as much as we are!”

The Moonlight Memory Walk has been organised to help raise vital funds to build Little Harbour, a children’s hospice in Cornwall. Building work is well underway at the hospice, but the charity needs the money to keep coming in to reach the £5 million target to enable Little Harbour to be completed in time to open by the end of next year.

If you haven’t registered for the Moonlight Memory Walk there are still plenty of opportunities to get involved and help turn the dream of a hospice in Cornwall into a reality. Here are just some of the many ways you can help:  Take part in one of our other organised events or challenges  Have some fun and organise your own fundraising event  Support us by organising activities at work  Join a Friends Group in your area, or start your own  Make a single donation, or become a regular giver More volunteers are also needed to help out with our Moonlight Memory Walk, so why not donate your time for a good cause?
