Falmouth and Penryn bakers W.C Rowe’s have baked a giant pasty to help launch this year’s Moonlight Memory Walk in aid of Children’s Hospice South West and once again the Packet is the official media sponsor.

The ladies only event, now in its third year, helps raise money for the hospice charity and will be co-sponsored by Rowe’s bakery and Foresters financial services organisation this time round.

The walk is a five mile sponsored circuit, which sets off from The Moor on Falmouth at 10pm on September 10 and to announce the date, Rowe’s baked a giant emblazoned pasty. Once again Packet newspapers ate the official media partners.

Paul Pearce, marketing director for Rowe’s Bakery said: “We’re really pleased to be supporting the Moonlight Memory Walk and we’re sure it will be a fantastic success.

“Children’s Hospice South West, and Little Harbour in particular, is a cause we’ve been supporting for over a year now and we’re very proud to be part of the charity’s fundraising efforts.”

All Moonlight Memory Walkers will receive a Rowe’s pasty on completion of their five mile walk as well as a hot drink, medal, and goodie bag waiting for them on their return to the Moor.

Emma Lloyd, from Children’s Hospice South West Head of Fundraising, said: “With two months to go, we are already getting excited as it truly is a fantastic night.

“The hundreds of women who have taken part in our previous Moonlight Memory Walks have thoroughly enjoyed this girls’ night out with a difference, and we expect many will return to do it all over again.

“Why not join us and be part of something special?”

The Moonlight Memory Walk is open to women only with a minimum age of 16 and parental consent is required for 16-18 year olds.

Entry is £10, and there will be a prize of six free haircuts and a hamper of hair pampering products from Rococo in Truro for the woman who raises the most in sponsorship.

Men can get involved by helping out in one of the many volunteer roles required for the event.
