A group of ladies from St Gluvias Church Choir are warming up to take part in Children’s Hospice South West’s Moonlight Memory Walk again this year.

The team, who have named themselves the Soul Sisters, enjoyed taking part in the event so much last year that they signed up again, and even persuaded some new members.

The ladies really got into the spirit of the girls’ night out with a difference in 2010 by dressing up in their pyjamas, and are still deciding on their theme for this year’s Moonlight Memory Walk on Saturday, September 10.

Angela Winter, one of the choir members who took part last year, said: “We decided to walk as a group as we all sing in St Gluvias Church in Penryn, and because of the church connection we called ourselves ‘Soul Sisters’. We raised around £800 and members of St Gluvias Church were very generous with their sponsorship.

“We thought it would be different to wear our pyjamas as it was a moonlight walk, and we did raise a few eyebrows walking through the town. The event was so well organised and we really enjoyed it. We are looking forward to walking again this year under the same name and now have two more choir members joining us.”
