With just two weeks to go to Children’s Hospice South West’s third Moonlight Memory Walk in Falmouth, people are being urged to sign up for the charity trek.

Hundreds of ladies are expected to take part in the five mile walk around the town centre to help raise vital funds and celebrate precious memories with every step.

If you want to be a part of it, you only have a few days left to register.

Emma Lloyd, Children’s Hospice South West Head of Fundraising (West), said: “We are really looking forward to this year’s Moonlight Memory Walk in Falmouth.

“We’ve had a wide range of ladies signing up, some in large teams, some in smaller groups, and some as individuals, but all coming together for a common cause. There is something very special about that.

“We will gather on the Moor for a moving candle lit ceremony to remember loved ones before we set off on an uplifting walk together, taking in the sights of the town centre and the sea front by moonlight.

“Ladies, if you want to join us for this girls’ night out with a difference don’t forget to return your registration form to us by Monday, September 5, or you can register online now.

“By taking part you will be making a huge difference to local families with life-limited children.”

Ladies, join us on Saturday September 10 for an amazing Moonlight Memory Walk through Falmouth town centre, raise vital funds for our special new children’s hospice Little Harbour, and celebrate precious memories with every step.

Following an inspiring candle lit ceremony and a warm up, Moonlight Memory Walkers will set off together at 10pm from the Moor on a five mile circular walk, taking in the town centre and the sea front, in memory of a loved one. There will be a medal, hot drink, Rowe’s Cornish pasty, and goody bag waiting for them to welcome them back at the end of the walk.

The event is open to all ladies over the age of sixteen, with parental consent required for sixteen to eighteen year olds. There will be a fantastic prize of six free haircuts and a hamper full of pampering hair products from Rococo in Truro for the lady who raises the most in sponsorship, and all ladies raising over £100 will be entered into the draw to win a relaxing spa day.

Men are also encouraged to get involved by marshalling or taking on another volunteer role on the night. You can register for the Moonlight Memory Walk Falmouth 2011, on Saturday September 10, online now at www.chsw.org.uk/moonlight or phone 01726 871800 to request an information leaflet and registration form.
