Children’s Hospice South West has announced that the annual Moonlight Memory Walk will be returning to Falmouth on Saturday, September 15 and once again the Falmouth Penryn Packet is the official media partner.

Back for a fourth year, this will be the first time the popular ladies only event has taken place since the new children’s hospice Little Harbour opened its doors to families with life-limited children.

To help highlight this some of the fundraisers and care team donned their lovely purple Moonlight Memory Walk T-shirts and got creative with candle bags to craft a striking display in the entrance hall.

Visitors to the Little Harbour fundraising offices were greeted by a crescent moon, twinkling stars, and feet high numbers and letters revealing the date, on a sea of purple – not to mention a team of smiling ladies!

Emma Lloyd, head of fundraising for Children’s Hospice South West, said: “We’re appealing for women from across Cornwall to join us on September 15 for this extra special girls’ night out to celebrate the lives of loved ones and help raise vital funds for Children’s Hospice South West.

“We offer respite, short breaks, palliative, emergency, end of life, and bereavement support for families, often for many years. Our wonderful services are funded almost entirely by voluntary donations, and now Little Harbour is open we need your support more than ever. The Moonlight Memory Walk is a wonderful way to help, bringing together women of all ages for an uplifting and inspiring evening.

“Following a moving ceremony on The Moor, lit by hundreds of glowing candle bags, we will set off on a five mile circular walk in memory of those we have loved and lost – children, mums, dads, brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, grandmas, grandads, and friends.

“We look forward to this event every year as the atmosphere is absolutely amazing. Why not join us? Men can be a part of it too by volunteering to help out on the night!”
