With September fast approaching, so too is Children’s Hospice South West’s special Moonlight Memory Walk.

The popular annual event is taking place in Falmouth on 15th September this year and will see hundreds of ladies coming together for a fun girls’ night out for a great cause. There is still time to sign up and join them but you need to be quick as the deadline for registration is 10th September!

Emma Lloyd, Head of Fundraising at Children’s Hospice South West’s Little Harbour, says: “We have been looking forward to the Moonlight Memory Walk all year and are very excited now that it is just weeks away! Every year the ladies taking part tell us what a wonderful time they have had, and that is always evident on the night as the atmosphere is electric.”

That buzz starts from the moment the ladies start arriving at The Moor, many in fancy dress, and all with their purple Moonlight Memory Walk t-shirts. They will be entertained by Pirate FM’s James Dundon before taking a moment to reflect at the inspiring memory ceremony with music and hundreds of glowing candle bags as the centerpiece. Then after a quick warm up, we’ll set off at 10pm on our circular five mile walk, back to a warm welcome at The Moor – complete with pasties, hot drinks, and goody bags.

Here’s what some of the ladies who have taken part previously have said: • “A fantastic night! Great atmosphere, perfect mix of memories followed by excitement and determination to raise money for a very worthy cause”

• “I thought the atmosphere was terrific. A real community event for a great cause”

• “Never done a walk at night before – exhilarating. Wonderful atmosphere, well organised and memorable”

• “Good humour and camaraderie was shared by everyone”

Emma Lloyd adds: “It really is the people that make this marvelous event, so why not join them and be part of something really special?”
