Two young men who used a gun in an attempted street robbery in Newquay are being hunted by police.

Officers in Newquay are appealing for information following the attempted robbery at around 10.25pm on Monday, November 5 in Glamis Road, Newquay.

The two victims, a man and a woman were walking along the road when they were approached by two young men who demanded money.

One of the men produced a gun which was believed to be a BB gun.

The male victim advised them that they didn’t have anything after which one of the offenders patted his trousers and jacket to confirm this before both men ran off empty handed in the direction of Henver Road.

Neither victim was injured as a result of the incident.

The first offender is described as being a white male aged between 16 and 18 years, 5’ 8” in height, slim build, with a local accent and wearing a black quilted slim fit proof jacket, dark trousers and a ‘hoodie’ under his jacket, with a black and grey check scarf covering his face.

The second offender was also a white male, of similar age and height, and wearing a dark hooded top or jacket.

Police would like to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time and saw the suspects or from anyone who has any information regarding their identity.
