The 2013 Thundercat World Championship will race into Cornwall this October, with three action packed events

The week long event from October 5 to 12 will see two man teams from ten countries across the globe battling through three disciplines to be crowned King or Queen of this prestigious event. Billed as the 'ultimate in global inflatable boat racing'  the close to shore circuits ensure all the action can be seen and heard from the comfort of the shore.

Fiona Pascoe, event director said: "We cannot think of a better place for them to visit and hopefully revisit for many years to come."

Two locations will be used throughout the seven day championship, the first is the official host venue for the duration, Pentewan Sands, where teams will race 60 miles along the rugged Cornish coast from to Looe and back twice. The second is Watergate Bay where each day teams shall take a day trip over to the north coast for a taste of Cornwall’s superb surf conditions.

Described as the nearest thing on water to motocross, boats racing through the surf can jump 20ft into the air.

The racing is separated into three classes, Modified, where everything can be enhanced, with modified boats reaching speeds of over 70mph. Pro Stock, where crews can tweak and enhance their engines with no rev limiter, and stock, which is the ‘out of box’ racing class where only minor modifications are allowed.

There is free entry to the action packed global event. More information on racing dates and timings can be found on the official information page www.thundercatracing.com.
