The Rising Sun in Truro has closed its doors while it undergoes a "transformation to boost the overall look and feel of the pub".
The Punch Taverns pub on Mitchell Hill, is receiving a significant cash injection from landlord Thomas Hannon and owners Punch Taverns. The refurbishment will see the pub offer a brand new décor and improved facilities, a new roof and a brand new kitchen.
Tom, who has been in the industry for 13 years, said: “I have learnt my trade through working at all different catering establishments, from pubs to fine dining restaurants, from one rosette to three,” he said.
“Amongst these I have been fortunate enough to work in some of the best kitchens in the county, and with being a chef; I am passionate about sourcing, cooking and eating good local food.
“The plans look fantastic. We will be offering the community something completely different and a range of facilities to suit all. I can’t wait to see the end result and of course, serving up some of my original Cornish dishes,” said Tom.
