Police have arrested a man after an incident in Camelford on the evening of Saturday, October 18.

Police were called just before 6pm to reports of a man with a dangerous weapon in the Tresparrett area.

A police spokesperson said: "An off duty officer, passing in the area, approached the man as there was immediate concern for his welfare.

"Duty officers soon arrived to arrest the man and take him into custody."

A 52-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing criminal damage and being in possession of an offensive weapon in a public place, and remains in custody.
