Armed police boarded a bus on route to Truro yesterday after a report of an axe attack.
Officers are appealing for witnesses after armed officers attended a property in Henver Road, Newquay at around 1pm on Wednesday, November 5,following a report of an assault involving a weapon.
A spokesman said: "At 2.45pm, a suspect was travelling on a bus between Trispen and Truro when he was arrested by local units and firearms officers after the driver alerted police to his behaviour.
"A 24-year-old man from Newquay has been arrested on suspicion of causing GBH and has been bailed until the 9th of January 2015. The victim, in his early 30’s went to Trelisk Hospital for treatment for his injuries."
The weapon has yet to have been located and is described as short handled orange coloured axe with a black rubber handle.
Police are appealing for any witnesses to call 101 quoting crime reference CR/120107/14.
