A man has ben charged with attempted murder after a woman was shot in a car park.

Peter Roberts, 44, of Millendreath, Looe, has been charged with attempted murder amd with possession of an air weapon when prohibited for five years and possession of ammunition for an air weapon when prohibited for five years.

Roberts is due to appear before Bodmin Magistrates' Court this morning (November 11).

Police were called to a property in Looe on September 29 by ambulance crews who were treating a woman suffering from a head injury.

The woman, aged in her fifties, was reported to have been shot in Millendreath car park in Looe the previous evening (September 28). The woman was taken to Derriford Hospital, where she remains in a critical but stable condition.

A 66-year-old man and a 47-year-old man from Looe, both arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender have been released on police bail until December 16 pending further enquiries.
