Police in Newquay have issued a photo of a man they want to find following a recall to prison.

Alex Shirley was convicted of robbery at Truro Crown Court on September 18 and sentenced to a suspended sentence order made up of 18 months imprisonment suspended for two years.

However, on November 27 the Court of Appeal Criminal Division quashed the suspended sentence order and instead issued a custodial sentence of five years and five months.

He is now sought for recall to prison and police intend to arrest him once found.

Alex Shirley is a white man aged 27 years, 5ft 7in tall, with cropped black hair.

He is known locally as “scouse Jay.”

He lives in Newquay but also has links to Liverpool.
