Police are trying to identify the body of a man who was discovered on a sand bar close to the boat house on the river at Golant, Fowey.
The body was discovered by a member of the public at around 12.30pm on Monday 8 December. The body was recovered by the coastguard and was pronounced deceased at the scene; the death is being treated as unexplained.
The man is described as white, aged late 50’s-early 60’s with grey/white short hair around the sides of his head and bald on top. He had a grey trimmed beard and moustache, medium-stocky build and 5ft 6-8 inches tall.
When discovered he was wearing a blue elasticised waist trousers, red v-neck jumper and blue and white striped shirt, dark suede shoes with lighter coloured crepe sole and dark socks. He was also in possession of a VW car key.
