Ben Howard has been confirmed as a headliner for the Eden Sessions on Friday July 17.

The Eden Sessions show will be one of just a handful of gigs Ben will play during the summer, as he returns to the Sessions as a headliner, having played slots on the outside stages in 2010.

Ben, who grew up near Totnes in Devon, released his second studio album I Forget Where We Were in October last year with the record topping the charts in the UK.

This followed his 2011 debut album Every Kingdom which catapulted Ben into the limelight, going double-platinum and being nominated for the Mercury Prize and an Ivor Novello Award.

In 2013, Ben won both the British Breakthrough Act and British Solo Male Artist categories at the BRIT Awards.

Rita Broe, marketing director of the Eden Project, said: “Ben Howard is one of the biggest stars to come out of the South West music scene and we’re really pleased to be welcoming him back to Eden for what promises to be an unmissable show.

“From those early performances in support slots at the Sessions, we always knew he would be a superstar and we can’t wait to see him on the main stage.”

Ben Howard is the second headliner to be announced for the 2015 Eden Sessions.

The first announcement was Elton John who will play shows on June 16 and 17. Standard tickets for these nights have sold out but some Sessions Plus premium ticket packages are still available.

The Eden Sessions enter their fourteenth year in 2015 following headline shows last year by Dizzee Rascal, Skrillex, Ellie Goulding, Pixies and Elbow.

Tickets for Ben Howard at the Eden Sessions cost £40 plus £5 booking fee and go on sale to members of the Inside Track club at 4pm today (Tuesday February 24). Inside Track members can buy tickets through www.edensessions.com or by calling the Eden box office on 01726 811972.

Tickets will go on general sale at 4pm on Tuesday March 3 by calling the Eden box office on 01726 811972.

Eden now offers on-site accommodation at the YHA Eden Project, allowing Eden Sessions fans to avoid the traffic after the gig, and enjoy a drink during the event without worrying about driving or waiting for taxis. Rooms on Eden Sessions nights are limited and sell out fast. They can be booked through www.edensessions.com.
