Firefighters took 90 minutes to cut a woman with multiple injuries free from the wreckage after a serious crash on the A30 this morning.

Police received a report of a collision involving a lorry and a car on the westbound carriageway of the A30 near Victoria around 4.30am this morning (Wednesday 25 February) .

A police spokesman said: "A woman, thought to be in her twenties, was reported as being trapped inside a Vauxhall Astra and the westbound carriageway was closed while emergency services carried out their work. Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service was also at the scene who worked to free the woman driver. It is believed this process took around 90 minutes.

"The driver of the lorry was uninjured."

"The woman driving the car is reported as having muliple injuries but they are not thought to be life changing."

At 8.30am the road is being reported as being partially open with lane two still closed. Motorists are advised to slow down as the approach the Roche turn-off.
