There is widespread anger from supporters of the 'Stadium for Cornwall' with concerns that the project has been kicked into touch after councillors refused to make a decision, but approved two superstore plans.

Councillorswill have to meet again to discuss whether to allow retail elements of the Stadium For Cornwall plan to go ahead or not.

The decision has left many furious, with people taking to Twitter and Facebook to have their say.

After more than 11 hours of debate, members of Cornwall Council's planning committee decided to defer the decision for the site at West Langarth which would help fund the building of the 10,000 ground.

The committee made their choice on the basis questions and surveys linked with the Section 106 agreement of the proposals still needed to be answered.

Councillors also deferred a plan to turn Truro City's Treyew Road site into a retail space while schemes at Maiden Green and Willow Green were approved.
