Truro's annual cultural festival came to an end on Easter Sunday after 102 events featuring music, art, exhibitions, theatre, dance, comedy, film, literature, and photography over ten days.

Hailed by the organisers as the ‘most ambitious festival yet’, Lemon Quay was transformed into a ‘festival village’ complete with yurts, food tents, a green area and open air stage.

Charla Symons, one of the festival organisers said, “Our aim for the festival is to provide a platform to promote and celebrate the vivid cultural community residing in this great little city”

“The past 10 days has offered an abundance of experiences for people visiting Truro. From cartoon and printmaking workshops to cultural seminars, live music and women-only events – we are extremely proud of the quality and spirit with which people have participated and performed this year”

Many events explored the festivals ‘journeys’ theme for 2015. The Story Republic had a residency at the Royal Cornwall Museum for the duration of the festival - inviting intrepid story travellers to begin their own voyage into a realm of tales, poems and song.

The week kicked off with a bang, when performing troops of dancers from Truro based Jason Thomas Dance Company filled the quay with music and moves to an impressed audience.

Being the main hub for the festival, the ‘village’ on Lemon Quay was open daily, with a programme of family friendly events and activities. Including workshops in the Allen Yurt and theatre performances in the Kenwyn Yurt and on Tinney Green. These venues were named after the 3 rivers of Truro.

It was another sell-out year for Salon Du Chocolat, a women only event hosted by theatre company Scary Little Girls and the weather improved just in time for a gig on the Tinney Green on Easter Saturday by indie band Lloyd Yates.

Events also took place in venues around Truro, including the Royal Cornwall Museum, Waterstones, Truro Library, the Plaza, Truro Arts Shop, B Juicy, Reids Café, Innertide and the City Hall.

The festival is funded and delivered by Totally Truro Business Improvement District (BID),
