Police are looking for a driver who left the scene after they were involved in a three-vehicle crash on the A39 near Truro on Saturday.

Seven people had to be treated for minor injuries after a small black car, the driver of which did not stop, was in a collision with a silver Vauxhall Corsa and a silver Peugeot 207 at Carland Cross at around 3pm.

The casualties, from the Peugeot and the Vauxhall, were taken to The Royal Cornwall Hospital following the crash.

Police, fire and ambulance services were called following initial reports that a person was trapped, although nobody had to be removed from either car.

The A39 was also closed and not fully re-opened until around 4.50pm.

Police are now trying to identify the small black car, which headed off towards Carland Cross roundabout, and are appealing for the driver to come forward.

They would also like to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision or may have information about the vehicle's whereabouts.

Anyone who can assist with the investigation is asked to contact MPC 6210 Roome by telephoning police on 101, quoting log number 472 of 25/04/15.
