A yoga fundraiser to provide aid to the victims of the Nepal Earthquake will be held at Newquay over the May Day bank holiday.

The yoga schools in and around Newquay have pulled together for the fundraiser, on May Day Monday, May 4, on the grass by South Fistral Beach in Newquay, with all funds raised being split between three charities, The Red Cross, Save the Children, and the Himalayan Animal Rescue Trust, which are all running appeals following the quake.

There will be for an hour long yoga class at 2pm, followed by a short meditation, suitable for all levels, for everyone from those who have never stepped a toe onto a yoga mat to seasoned yogis.

One of the organisers, Sarah Grant, said: "With the death toll expected to be over 10,000 and tens of thousands more having been left without homes, not to mention the suffering of the animals, we really wanted to try and help and send some funds and positivity over to them.

"I know its short notice but we’d really love it if we could all come together and try and send as much money and positivity out to those souls that need it right now more than ever."

the groups will be shaking a collection bucket or donations can be made at www.virginmoneygiving.com/team/YogaForNepal
