Two people had to be treated for smoke inhalation this morning (Wednesday, May 13) following a fire at a flat in Meadowside in Newquay.
Two fire engines from Newquay were called at around 1am, and crews arrived to find a blaze involving a freezer in a first floor flat.
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used an extinguisher and a hosereel to put out the flames, and a positive pressure ventilation fan to clear smoke, and an ambulance was requested to treat two occupants.
