Firefighters were called to Truro's Pannier Market yesterday afternoon following reports of a fire in one of the shops.
Two fire engines were sent to the scene at around 5.30pm and found the fire in two light fittings at the front of the store.
A fire service spokesperson said: "Crews used two breathing apparatus and two carbon dioxide extinguishers to extinguish the accidental fire."
