Rotary Evolution is calling for new members to join their Truro-based club with a series of events.

Part of the Rotary Club of Truro, Rotary Evolution offers a light-touch opportunity for people to find out more about this international service organisation and get involved with community projects.

The events, called Rotary Evolution – What’s It All About? take place on Thursday, September 10 at 6pm, Friday, September 25 at 7.30pm and Saturday, October 3 at 10.30am. All being held at Kasbah in Truro's Quay Street.

There will be refreshments on offer, sponsored by Atkins Ferrie Wealth Management, and members will share some of the projects they have delivered so far.

More information is available on the Rotary Evolution website: www.trurorotaryevolution.wordpress.com.

Communications officer for Rotary Evolution Rachel Picken said: “It’s a really good opportunity to get involved with people in and out of your community and make a difference. I meet lots of people who are interested in the work of Rotary but don’t always have time to commit to a traditional club. We meet once a month and roll our sleeves up on simple projects that make a positive impact.

“We’re very inclusive – we welcome men and women of all ages from 20-somethings upwards. There is also no pressure to join Rotary International straight away – it’s a chance to dip your toe in the water and find out if it’s for you.”

The club has already had led on a number of charity and community projects, from arranging a donation of school equipment from the Isles of Scilly to Romania, to holding a carers' day and making and selling Christmas chutney.

Charities to have benefited include St Petroc's, Young People Cornwall, Cornwall Carers Service and more.

Rotary Evolution is the Satellite Rotary Club of Truro, part of Truro Rotary Club and District 1175.
