Tony Kirkham’s two tree lectures for Cornwall Garden Society
Cornwall Garden Society’s winter lecture series begins with a closer look at the beauty and variety of trees delivered by Tony Kirkham, Head of the Arboretum at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew.
The first of Tony’s lectures, A Cut Above the Rest, will take place at 7.30pm, on Tuesday, October 13, at The Alverton Hotel, Tregolls Road, Truro, directly after the CGS annual general meeting. The lecture will cover topical items linked to trees - pruning, planting, different species, new trees, pests, diseases, challenges for trees and tree people of the 21st century.
Elizabeth Wilton, lecture organiser for CGS, said: “Tony is an extremely knowledgeable man with a reputation for delivering well-illustrated and lively lectures. We’re all looking forward to hearing from him.”
Everyone is welcome to attend the lectures and admission is free, although donations will be gratefully received from non-members. The event is also an excellent opportunity to find out more about all that membership of the CGS has to offer.
