Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) has announced that its Rainbow Run will be returning to RAF St Mawgan on June 26 and this year the age limit has been lowered so that anyone aged five and over can take part.

Sponsored by Ann’s Cottage, the Rainbow Run is a 5km sponsored fun run where participants get showered in different coloured powder paint as they run through paint stations along the route. As 2016 is CHSW’s 25th anniversary, there will also be added silver surprises at the event.

Over 650 people have already signed up to take part and as there are limited places the team at CHSW are encouraging people to sign up fast. Participants can run, jog or walk the 5k and the emphasis is on having fun while you are doing it.

Events fundraiser for CHSW, Kiley Tellam, said: “The Rainbow Run is such a fun event to take part in and this year with the lowered age limit little ones can enjoy the fun too. Whether it is with friends, family or colleagues get signed up and get ready for the most colourful run Newquay has ever seen.”

To take part you need to register via chsw.org.uk/rainbownewquay. Registration costs £15 for adults and £10 for children aged five to 15 and a family of four can register for £40. Participants are then encouraged to raise as much money as possible for CHSW so the charity can continue to support life limited children and their families at its Little Harbour hospice in St Austell.
