Police in Newquay have raided a cannabis farm at a licensed premises and seized a large amount of plants and cash.

On Monday Newquay police, supported by officers from the force support group and the police dog section, executed a pre-planned warrant issued under the Misuse of Drugs Act at the premises in Bank Street.

During the search a large number of cannabis plants were seized along with equipment used in the cultivation of cannabis, and a large amount of cash.

Two men aged 44 and 46 from Newquay were arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of controlled drugs. Both men were released on police bail to return to Newquay police station on July 14.

Inspector Dave Meredith said: “This warrant led to the seizure of a substantial amount of controlled drugs which sends a very clear message that the police will always take robust action against the supply of controlled drugs.”
