Further measures have been put in place to assist those who work at the Threemilestone Industrial Estate during the Saveock bridge road closure.

From Monday, any employee of a business based on the industrial estate will be able to park for free at either the Langarth Park and Ride or the Tregurra (Eastern/Waitrose) Park and Ride (P&R) sites.

Those employees who work at the estate wishing to take up this offer will need to register and collect a pass from the Cornwall Council office based at Unit 6 on the industrial estate (opposite Riders Garage). All that is required is proof of employment, identity card, name badge or similar, from a business based on the estate.

Once collected the pass will give the holder free use of the park and ride buses that run between the two park and ride sites and also to join and leave the service at any P&R stopping point in between, including Truro Railway Station.

Regular commuters to the Threemilestone Industrial Estate are asked to consider alternative ways of travelling to work during this period of disruption to help alleviate traffic congestion. Personalised journey information can be obtained from the Traveline website. Regular connections with rail services to Truro are available from the railway station to Threemilestone on First services and the Park and Ride. Through ticketing is available with the purchase of a Plusbus add on to regular rail tickets. Buses operate frequently throughout the day to and from the station.

To help alleviate the issues at Threemilestone roundabout, the council has put emergency signage in place and installed yellow box junction markings. This will help keep to keep the junctions clear and prevent the Threemilestone entrance and exits from the roundabout being blocked with queuing traffic on the A390.

The Network Rail-owned bridge that carries the road over the main Penzance to London rail line at Saveock, near Greenbottom, is in urgent need of repair. If the bridge is not repaired, it will fail.

The work is extensive and to carry out these upgrades, the bridge has been temporarily closed until October 14. During this time, a sign-posted diversion route is in place.
