Pupils at Truro High School for Girls have bid a fond farewell to one of their best loved teachers as she retires after 20 years at the school.

Head of Prep, Alison Miller, was treated to a flashmob dance involving all prep pupils from age four to 11 before sitting down to watch a hilarious show made up of sketches about her time at the school.

Donations from parents were used to buy Alison a voucher to attend the horse trials at Badminton next year – an event she has always wanted to visit but has never been able to due to term time commitments.

Mrs Miller is leaving Truro High after two decades to begin a new career with her husband’s estate agency firm. She reflected on her time at the school saying the show epitomised everything the High School stood for with fabulous, confident girls working together as a team with the help of warm and supportive teachers and a fabulous loyal parent body.

Mrs Miller will hand over the Prep School reins to her colleague Annabel Ramsey who takes over as head of prep from September.
