Team Vic and a Threemilestone neighbour, Nigel Stafford, are hosting a charity auction to raise money in support of the Cornish Heart Unit Fund (CHUF) of Royal Cornwall Hospitals Charity. The auction, which is free to attend, will take place at Truro Golf Club, on Friday, September 23, with bidding starting at 7.30pm.

Hosted by Phillip Buddell, the auction follows a charity golf day at the club, all of which was envisioned as a way for Nigel and Team Vic to give back for the amazing treatment Nigel received from the A&E and cardiac teams at the Royal Cornwall Hospital after he collapsed and needed resuscitating three years ago.

After sharing his story with Mark and Justin, who run the Victoria Inn, they came up with the Stafford Shield – a golf day and auction to raise money for CHUF.

“Last year, we raised £8,100 through team entries, generous donations and an auction which included some great prizes," said Nigel. "The year before, £4,200. It goes without saying that we hope to build on this success and raise even more for the 2016 event.”

The auction is stacked with items such as four Executive Club hospitality yickets for Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, dinner, bed and breakfast in a luxury suite at The Alverton in Truro, a Worcester Bosh home combi boiler, hospitality tickets for Manchester United at Old Trafford, a long weekend stay in Porth, a family spa day at St Michaels Hotel in Falmouth and lots more.
